Resflor Solution for Injection is a combination product containing a broad spectrum antibiotic, florfenicol, and flunixin meglumine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Resflor is for the treatment of respiratory infections caused by Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni associated with raised body temperatures in cattle.The recommended dose for cattle is 40 mg
kg florfenicol and 2.2 mg
kg flunixin (2 ml
15 kg body weight) to be administered by a single subcutaneous injection. To ensure correct dosage the body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. The dose volume given at any one injection site should not exceed 10 ml.Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of the bacteria isolated from the animal. Concurrent use of other active substances that have a high degree of protein binding may compete with flunixin for binding and thus lead to toxic effects.Please see packaging for withdrawal periods
