Zonegran contains the active ingredient zonisamide,a sulphonamide anticonvulsant. It is an anti-epileptic medicine with weak carbonic anhydrase activity. It is chemically unrelated to other anti-epileptic agents and can be used alone as a monotherapy or as an adjunctive therapy alongside other drugs. The capsules have a white opaque body and a red opaque cap printed with a logo and "ZONEGRAN 100" in black. Excipients include -Sunset yellow FCF (E110) 0.002mg, Allura red AC (E129) 0.147mg andhydrogenated vegetable oil (from soyabean) 3mg.For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1 of the SmPC.
